This service is designed for customers who are unsure whether their FIAT SRS/Airbag Control Module is faulty and would like the module tested before purchasing a repair.

Once we receive your module, we will carry out our available bench-testing and diagnostic procedures to assess its operation and communication.

Following testing, we'll let you know the result and whether we have identified a fault with the module.

If your module is faulty

If we identify a fault that is covered by one of our repair services, we'll advise you of the appropriate repair and the next steps.

If your module tests correctly

If the module operates and communicates correctly during our testing, we'll advise you of the result. This can help prevent unnecessary module replacement or repair and allows further diagnosis to be concentrated on the vehicle.

Please note: This is a testing and diagnostic service only. The purchase price does not include repair work unless specifically stated otherwise.

1. Purchase the Testing Service

Purchase this testing service through our website and make a note of your order number.

2. Remove & Package Your Module

Remove the SRS/Airbag Control Module from the vehicle and package it securely to protect it during transport.

Please include a note inside your parcel containing:

We recommend using a tracked postal or courier service and keeping your tracking information until the testing has been completed.

Please ensure your name and order number are included inside the parcel so we can identify your module when it arrives.

4. We Test Your Module

Once received, we'll match the module to your order and carry out our available bench-testing and diagnostic procedures.

5. We Contact You With The Result

Once testing is complete, we'll advise you of the outcome.

If a fault is identified and VSR offers a suitable repair, we'll explain the available repair option before any additional work is carried out.

If the module tests correctly, we'll advise you accordingly and return the module.

What does the testing service tell me?

The service is designed to establish whether we can identify a fault with the SRS module itself using our available bench-testing and diagnostic procedures.

This is particularly useful when the vehicle has no communication with the SRS module, but you aren't certain whether the problem is the module or the vehicle.

Does the price include a repair?

No. This product is for testing and diagnosis of the module only.

If we identify a repairable fault, we'll advise you of the appropriate repair service and any additional cost before proceeding.

What if my module tests OK?

We'll advise you that the module has operated correctly under our test conditions and return it to you.

Further diagnosis of the vehicle's wiring, power supply, communication network or other systems may then be required.

Can you test the vehicle as part of this service?

No. This postal service covers the SRS/Airbag Control Module itself.

We cannot assess the vehicle's wiring, connectors, power supplies or CAN network when only the module has been sent to us.

Can you repair it while you have it?

If testing confirms a fault that falls within one of our repair services, we'll contact you with the available repair option.

We will not carry out additional chargeable repair work without your agreement.

What information should I include?

Please include your name, order number, telephone number and vehicle registration.

We also recommend including a brief description of the problem and any relevant diagnostic fault codes.

If my module is faulty, do I have to pay for testing and the full repair?

If testing confirms a fault covered by one of our eligible repair services and you choose to proceed with the repair, the module testing fee will be deducted from the cost of the repair.

This means you can have the module tested first without paying the full testing fee on top of the repair cost if you subsequently proceed with an eligible VSR repair.

We'll contact you with the test result and repair options before carrying out any additional chargeable work.
