Our airbag crash data reset service removes the locked crash data codes that are stored on the airbag module following the airbags being deployed.

After an accident and deployment of airbags, many vehicles now store crash data. This data is a fault code that is not clearable with your regular scan tools. You can see below of some examples of crash data.

If your vehicle has not been in an accident then most likely this service is not for you. Please ensure you scan the vehicle to see the fault codes in the airbag module prior to purchasing this service. If you are not sure if the codes you have are crash data, you can contact us and we will be happy to help.

If your codes are anything related to high resistance, or mention a specific item such as Driver airbag then this is not crash data. If you do not have any of these codes and are unsure if you require this service, you can call us and well be happy to help.

Some modules will not allow you to reset any codes if there is crash data present. Once the crash data is cleared by ourselves the other codes can be cleared with your regular scan tool - this is provided that the faults relating to the code has been repaired.

Q. Is it safe to reset it?

A. Yes, when we reset the module we put it back to standard therefore the airbags will still deploy as and when they need to.

Q. What happens if you can not reset my module?

A. Its not very often we can not reset one of these modules however if we can not reset the module for any reason we will return it and issue a full refund.

Q. Is there warranty with the reset?

A. Our resets are covered with a 12 months guarantee. This does not cover if you have another accident. This warranty covers you if your module is returned and the code is not reset. The code will never re appear on its own without another accident therefore this is not something to worry about.

Q. Will i need to re-code the module once you have reset the unit?

A. No, once we have reset your module you can re-install it to your vehicle with no additional coding required. Crash data will be removed however on occasion you may need to clear other codes with a scan tool.

Once you have determined your airbag module has crash data stored this is how we proceed from here (if your not sure if your module is at fault, please read the description tab on this page)

1. Purchase this advert, Please ensure your delivery address is correct at checkout as this is the one we will use to return your module.
2. Pack up your module preferably into a cardboard box to avoid postal damage. Include your contact number and order number inside the parcel. If you fail to do this then we will not know who the parcel is from and your module will not be repaired.
3. Post your Module to us at VSR, Unit 5, Camden Street, Mossley, OL59BD. We advise customers to use royal mail however any courier is ok.
4. Once we receive your module we aim to have it repaired and dispatched back within 48hrs. This is Monday-Friday. Any modules received on a weekend or late on a Friday afternoon will not be repaired until Monday / Tuesday.
5. Once we have dispatched your module back we will update you via SMS or Email with the tracking code. All parcels are dispatched back using a 24hr service.
